We charge a $150 diagnostic fee for a comprehensive inspection of your vehicle. This covers the time, expertise, and tools needed to properly assess the issue and provide a thorough report.
Good news: If your repair totals more than $200, we will waive the diagnostic fee! This means you only pay for the repair itself, helping you save money in the long run.
How We Calculate Your Repair Estimate
Our quotes are customized to your vehicle’s specific needs. Here’s how we break it down:
- Labor Time: We use book times provided by Alldata, a trusted industry standard, to estimate how long each repair will take. This ensures fairness and accuracy across the board.
- Parts Costs: The price of parts is factored into the estimate based on the specific components needed for your vehicle. We ensure the highest quality parts for long-lasting results.
- Shop Fees & Fluids: Any additional shop fees, including fluids or other necessary materials, are included in the quote so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
- Variable Labor Rate: Our labor rate varies depending on the complexity of the job. This is automatically handled by our shop software to ensure fairness, a common practice across the industry.
Handling Unexpected Issues
While we always strive to provide you with the most accurate estimate based on the information available, there are times when unexpected issues arise. For example:
During a head job, we may need to send the head to a machine shop. If the machine shop discovers that the head is cracked, this will require purchasing a new head, which can increase the repair cost.
We do our absolute best to educate customers about worst-case scenarios upfront to prepare you for any unexpected changes. Our goal is always to keep you informed and ensure you understand any additional costs before proceeding with further repairs.
Warranty Information

However, some repair complexities may cause variations that RepairPal doesn’t account for, which is why we always provide a tailored estimate for your specific vehicle.
